Community Seeds 2024- Combating the Housing Shortage

How should Alabama's developers, designers, and government respond to the ongoing housing shortage? Join Alabama Communities of Excellence, DesignAlabama, Your Town Alabama, and Main Street Alabama for a one-day workshop that will provide examples of successful projects, policies, and strategies that have encouraged high-quality housing within Alabama. It will introduce opportunities for improvement that respond to Alabama's rural character, limited resources, and underserved communities. 

Attendees will hear from experts in housing design, permitting, construction, and financing. The workshop will include a tour of The Mill - an adaptive reuse project that included the redevelopment of a historic mill into multi-family housing adjacent to Prattville's downtown business district.
