Road project in Woodlawn creates more pedestrian friendly community
Bet you’ve never heard of a diet like this one! Woodlawn's Road Diet project is making its roads more pedestrian-friendly, including a one lane road each direction, a two lane bike route, and street parking with safety separation between automobiles and bikes. Collaborations included a health scholar fellowship study, as well as work with Birmingham DOT, REV Birmingham, and the Woodlawn neighborhood association.
Calera Main Street announces playground grand opening
Congrats to Calera Main Street on the grand opening of its specially-designed, sensory-friendly playground. We love the "magic of playing together" and the many inclusive amenities this collaborative community feature offers, like ADA accessibility, music areas, dynamic swing sets, and a quiet grove dedicated to sensory focusing and regrouping.
