7 Main Street Alabama Programs Receive 2015 National Main Street Accreditation
Main Street Alabama announces of its programs have been designated as accredited National Main Street Programs for meeting the commercial district revitalization performance standards set by the National Main Street Center®, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. AlexanderCity, Athens, Birmingham, Florence, Gadsden, Monroeville and Oxford each received the national accreditation.
Atmore to join Main Street
Atmore, along with several other communities in the southern Alabama region, will be joining together to begin work toward becoming a part of the Main Street Alabama Program.

A campaign to turn downtowns into the economic engines they once were has reached another 7 locales in southwest Alabama. The communities of Atmore, Brewton, Butler, Evergreen, Grove Hill, Jackson and Thomasville recently joined the community revitalization program Main Street Alabama.
