FOLEY - Oct. 15 was a proud night for Foley Main Street when an award ceremony was held at Oui Oui Paris. Main Street Alabama President/State Coordinator Mary Helmer presented the organization with three Awards of Excellence: the Main Street Hero Award, Promotion Award, and Public Relations Award.

New businesses open in downtown Eufaula amid pandemic

EUFAULA, Ala. (WTVM) - Officials with Main Street Eufaula are weighing in on the impact of COVID-19 on downtown businesses. According to Executive Director Ann Sparks, one business closed down due to the pandemic, but four new businesses have opened downtown. Sparks said they can tell there’s more foot traffic and parking spaces occupied now, compared to previous months. She said despite the pandemic, there are several new projects underway in Eufaula, such as renovations to the Martin Theatre and a new hotel potentially coming downtown.

Calera Main Street hosting alternative Halloween trick-or-treating amid pandemic

CALERA, Ala. (WBRC) - A non-profit in Calera is finding a creative way for families to trick-or-treat this year. According to Calera Main Street Executive Director Jackie Batson, the city of Calera hasn’t banned door-to-door trick-or-treating on Halloween, but they are supporting a new alternative option. Non-profit Calera Main Street is hosting its annual trunk-or-treat, but this year it is a drive through version.
