Community Updates - Promotion (August - November 2025)
Events are the name of a game in charming designated communities across the state, and Main Street Enterprise enjoyed the Nook at Night Series! Main Street Wetumpka stayed busy with Oktoberfest, as well as Broomsticks & Brews.
In Decatur, the North Alabama STEM Center and Cook Museum expansion was announced, featuring plans for a new 130-room hotel and a 500-space parking deck, expecting to boost tourism and local accessibility to the area. Decatur Downtown is currently preparing for Rock the South 2026, with more than 30,000 event-goers expected.
Main Street Montevallo’s beloved Tinglewood Festival took place recently, and the annual Craft Party for incoming University of Montevallo students saw a record attendance of over 100 participants this year.
Leeds Main Street made history with the first-ever "We Love Leeds Day,” and the action-packed day proved to be a great success for the town. Another groundbreaker happened for Downtown Calera, which held its largest event to date—the Calera Stampede Pro Rodeo.
Jasper Main Street seemed to always have something going on, including its Foothills Festival—with more than 40,000 attendees—along with the Foothills Bookfest, Oktoberfest, and Downtown Throwdown disc golf tournament.
This year, Monroeville Main Street’s Second Saturday featured a NASA Solar Ambassador promoting the area’s Dark Sky designation and the Science Discovery on Main Street asset mapping grant, considering it was one of seven national recipients of a Science Discovery on Main Street Implementation Grant!
Main Street Oxford participated in a live “Talk of Alabama” broadcast from downtown and held a bevy of events like Fall Market on Main, the Witches Ride & Walk on Main, and Trick or Treat on Main. LaFayette Main Street’s End of Summer Food Truck Festival was also a fun event, much the same as its recent Downtown Music Crawl.
Downtown Florence’s Pumpkin Drop tradition continues to be a crowd-pleaser, and Main Street Scottsboro:’s 10th Annual Scottsboro BBQ Festival attracted over 5,000 attendees!
Fort Payne Main Street’s historic Boom Days continues to be one of the busiest events of the year, bringing tens of thousands over a two-day period. While Main Street Marion hosted Innovate Alabama for its West Alabama Road Show, presenting awards to 13 communities and partners. In fact, the event showcased everything happening in Marion to the broader West Alabama region.
Over on the eastern side of the state, Main Street Anniston’s signature Neewollah on Noble took place, and the community also welcomed athletes for the Leadville Qualifier Coldwater Trail Ride and Run. Finally, Heflin Main Street enjoyed the CCHS Homecoming Dance on Main in the newly renovated Courthouse Row.
